José Angel

José Angel is 5 years old.

When José was born, he was diagnosed with spina bifida and had surgery to address the gap in the spinal column around his spinal cord. While he has little sensation or movement in his legs, he can control his upper body.

Due to his time at The Mercy Center, José has gained upper body muscle strength and developed some motor control through his knees and ankles. He’s a funny, charismatic little boy that brightens the Center with his laughter and humor.

José’s birthday is February 12!
