Our Mission
The Mercy Kids Foundation brings hope, healing, and dignity to children experiencing disability in Nicaragua. In the lives of the families we serve, we have been called, by Jesus, to be the look on His face, the tone of His voice, and the touch of His hand.
What We Do
This work is carried out primarily through The Mercy Center in Nicaragua, the only physical therapy and support center of its kind within a two-hour drive radius. The space exists to create a holistically healthy environment for kids with disabilities by providing physical therapy as well opportunities for community and health and wellness education.
The team in Nicaragua furthers our vision of holistic wellness through Mercy Medical, a program through which we provide access to medical intervention in Nicaragua. Local medical teams provide services from feeding tubes to neurological evaluations to clubfoot procedures to dental care.
In order to promote inclusion, Mercy Connects provides opportunities for kids who have not been able to attend school to receive an education through a local school system. Furthermore, at the Mercy Center, children and families receive education on healthy eating, hygiene, and other essential life skills.
Through Mercy Send, we find children who cannot be treated in Nicaragua and send them internationally to receive life changing surgeries or procedures. We partner with different organizations around the globe to facilitate the best option available for each child’s specific need.
Who we Serve
All of our participants come from low-income families that do not have access to other healthcare.
Our children experience a variety of disabilities from microcephaly to cerebral palsy to Down syndrome.
